This is my brother Kenny
Kenny was born with special needs and although he had many challenges to overcome, he faced each day with a smile, joy and child-like wonderment.
Life According to Kenny
• If you had "highballs" aka Coca-colas and snacks you had a party
• The radio should be playing The Beach Boys all day, every day
• A baby's head was made for sweet kisses
• Your outfit was not complete without a Special Olympics Medal
• And if you asked for the time - day or night - it was always 10:10
He always had a smile on his face and made everyone smile who he came in contact with. His ability to enjoy and savor the little things in life is one of the biggest lessons I learned from him.
The 10:10 Inspired Movement
Kenny passed away in 2005 and almost immediately, my family began noticing that we would glance at a clock at exactly 10:10. It still happens to this day and each time I smile and say, "Hey Kenny." It's a sweet reminder that he's never far away.
When settling on a mission statement and vision for Cotton Candys I was looking through scripture and came across one of my favorite verses.
"The thief comes to kill and destroy but I have come so that they may have life and have it abundantly" John 10:10
You've got to be kidding me!?! 10:10!! It was a perfect sign that THIS is indeed what our mission is.
We want to help make your world a little sweeter. We love making our customers feel unique and loved. And we want to celebrate the things that make you unique and remind you to love yourself and those around you.
Kenny encouraged our family to live life to the fullest and spread joy. Although you did not have a chance to know him, we hope that every time
you notice the 10:10 on your shirt, you are reminded of his story, of the joy that we're sending your, way and smile.
Once Upon A Time
There was a little girl, named Candy, who loved balloons, confetti, and celebrations and she dreamed of owning a store that was filled with colorful candy and treats
that would make people smile and bring them so much joy. That little girl grew up, met and married her prince and spent her days raising her family but always still dreamed of her bright colorful candy shop. Then one day she had an idea and Cotton Candy’s was born. A bright colorful online shop that sends people packages of joy in the mail that when opened will bring smiles and happiness to all who order. :)
My family and I live outside of Nasvhille, TN and operate Cotton Candy’s out of our home studio. On any given day you will find me sitting at my desk with my puppies around my feet, a very eclectic spotify playlist going and a long to do list in front of me.
Thank you for supporting our small business which allows me to opportunity to work from home so that I can be there for my kids, my puppies and my husband. I hope that you find something that brings you joy and that you are inspired to live your life to the fullest..10:10...
Because, LIFE IS SWEET
